Charlies Café, located in the buzzing café-lined street of Guldsmedgade, claims to combine Parisian and New York charm. Whether or not that’s an accurate description, the narrow two-storey café is certainly a nice choice whether for a quick lunch or a simple dinner, especially when the capricious Aarhus weather allows you to sit in its cosy courtyard.
The menu is hardly innovative, so don’t go there expecting to be surprised — but Charlie’s does offer a selection of solid and very reasonably priced café meals, as well as filling sandwiches (also available for take-away) at prices hard to beat within the city limits. Consider springing for the Sicilian country bread (+7 DKK), which is quite delicious.
