Despite its name, The Old Irish Pub is hardly the most authentic Irish pub around. Sure, it’s decorated with plenty of green furniture and golden shamrocks, and you can certainly get a pint of Guinness — but for the most part, the pub located between the River and Bispetorvet is essentially a mainstream pub-slash-bar. It does however have some of the best prices in town, allowing even the fiercest penny-pinchers to enjoy a cheap night out.
Of course, this has not gone unnoticed, for which reason the Old Irish is a highly popular bar, particularly on weekend nights. Hence, if you want a decent shot at a table, don’t arrive too late — you can count on the place being packed if you arrive past midnight.
